This is a war-piece. When I say "war-piece," I mean, that it stands for everything that fights for all that is good and true. This is a war on fear, self-hate, legalism, insecurities, and hard hearts. Like the drums that sound in battle or banners raised before armies, this painting is a declaration of freedom and chains being broken off.
I started this painting this past summer and what God has revealed to me through this is his faithfulness, but also his strength and zeal. He cares more about my dreams and about me than I could ever and he will fight for me harder than anyone ever has or will. In a season where I felt in limbo, he comforted me with words, with pictures of his might, with courage, and with protection.
