"Knate Young", drummer of Anberlin. I picked him because... 1. I LURRRVE Anberlin 2. He's the only member in the band with a picture big enough and clear enough to draw (courtesy of AP magazine) 3. I likes his eyes. :D I'm very proud of this one. ^^ The hair looks loads more real on paper though. I pretty much carved each hair into the bristol paper, so it's 3-D, heheh... Not on purpose though, of course. Ha. Ha. Ha. Hrm.
For those curious, yes, I did the hair strand by strand. WIP is up! This time, I took lots of pictures, so it's more thorough.

Title from the Anberlin song Time and Confusion. I wanted it to be "When Time and Confusion Collide", but it ran outta space. :[

Same ol' technique. Mechanical pencil and Derwent graphite. And thanks to for help with the framing!

EDIT (9.5.o6): Fixed!!! Note to self-- and others-- when taking pictures of your drawings instead of scanning them, tape the drawing to something like a wall, especially when your paper isn't quite flat. :P

That's very cool. I don't know who he is  but he looks very real. It's so totally the greatest pencil portrait I've seen on dA so far!! Go you!! :D
Crit: Nose and mouth are a tiny bit at the wrong angle, maybe? Unless he got hit in the face by a brick when he was small... =P
But otherwise it's really great. I can see how well the hair is done, so much effort! I usually just rush the hair in my portraits, coz I can't be bothered once I have the general likeness.
I love your shading technique, it's so smooth!

*I love writing. I love the swirl and swing of words as they tangle with human emotions.*

Hair... Just have that... "I'll finish it some day and until then, I can't start another piece" attitude. That's what I did. Or just tell yourself you're having too much fun doing each hair. Har. Har.

Psst. Go to Target. New clothing line. :) And they have UBER-cool knee high socks! $4. :D
